Fahrija Skokić is currently Head of the Department of Paediatrics, University Clinical Centre, Tuzla. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla in 1982. She attained her PhD in 1996 and Full Professorship in 2012 at the University of Tuzla. She was Head of the Maternity Ward, University Clinical Centre Tuzla from 1993 to 2008 and became Head of the Department for Paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla in 2007. In the period from 1997-2001 she was the Coordinator of a seminar on the "Psychosocial aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and newborns". From the beginning of her carrier she has shown interest in the development of professional and scientific thought in her teaching work. Her main scientific interest has been in Neonatology and Perinatology in the field of Paediatrics and she has also published several articles and analyses, cited in prestigious international and national journals, about topics referred to Neonatology and Perinatology. Prof. Dr Fahrija Skokić is known as an outstanding science educator in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
